In order to achieve the best result for the Codebreaker sculpture in Newmarket I made full size versions at differing levels of definition. I took these to site today and with help from Susie Olczak tried a variety of positions relative to the impressive Georgian backdrop. Working with the site engineers and the conservation officer we agreed the final composition. Final designs for manufacture can now be drawn up over the upcoming weeks. The next challenge is to work on the
'STRAND' SITE - the brick facade of the new kitchen extension on the river frontage at Magdalene College Cambridge. MATERIALS - Bronze stone and brick The proposal is to make an exciting artwork that refers to the : -movement of the the ripples made by river craft that use the busy Cam -wave equation theory -chess-board pattern found in the adjacent building on the Magdalene riverside site -the symbolic strands of the famous hair of Mary Magdalene. |
