ARTWORK TO MARK THE CHANGE OF AN AIRFIELD INTO PARKLAND AND RESIDENTIAL DWELLINGS

Brief – To make an artwork for the change of use of a redundant airfield on the outskirts of Ipswitch into a new residential centre complete with parkland and new schools known as ‘Ravenswood.’
Harry Gray was asked to consider the airfields change of use into a new Parkland area. He has used the propeller motif and made a monolithic artwork inlaid with small bronze elements which show a progression of shapes starting with 3 bladed propellers which then gradually change into many petalled wildflowers to show the change of use of the site
